Why are you on X?
Do You Know?
Dear Reader,
Happy Sunday.
You created your X account with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. A completely natural way to feel and the right feeling to start your X journey.
You may be new or an established X account. However old your account is your journey has occurred many times before. You are not unique as I have, along with millions of others been new to X.
What is your WHY for starting an account on X?
Please, don’t lie to yourself. My truth—I came on here to earn money.
Did you come on to X to create an account to document your journey and help people? You post for the first time and nothing happens. We’ve all been there. No likes, replies, or reposts. One of many to experience posting into a void.
You may think I will tell you to stick to your initial why, no. When I began I wanted to make money from X. Monetising was my WHY but it’s changed. X is a place for me to learn, challenge my thinking, and debate on Spaces. My desire to write and improve my writing is inspired by being on X.
My WHY on X since my beginning has evolved.
More motivated than ever to read, write, and study.
So, your WHY.
Your WHY on X can be organic. It may be the same after a year or changed after 1 month. Doesn’t matter. Be in tune with your WHY. Your WHY will drive you forward when your posts lack engagement and you lack energy and would like a day off (no days off).
Your WHY means you become completely immersed in your craft. Writing and reading every moment you get. Consume quality content to drive your account forward.
What about creating 2, 3, or 4 accounts to cover many niches, now we’re talking.
In your everyday life, you must be in tune with your WHY and core values. Same with X. On or off X you should be able to explain your WHY simply. My WHY for X is to make money, learn, share, write, think, and help. Being in touch with my WHY means I post every day, write this newsletter every Sunday, and haven’t stopped learning because of perceived burnout (you’re not burnout just bored).
Get in touch with why you’re on X.
When times get tough you will work at your best and be in touch with your soul. The reason you write, post memes or videos daily is fueled by your WHY.
WHY’s for being on X:
Make money, a side income
To learn
To help people
To share knowledge
Inspiring and challenging debates on Spaces
To expand knowledge (we know so little)
Become a better writer (challenging)
Practice discipline (post every day)
Read quality and entertaining content
Debate general topics
Politics
Up-to-date with current affairs
Some of the list of WHY’s are light but some are much stronger. It’s up to you to have clarity with your WHY. Look into your soul and pull out the reason to create quality content daily.
Strive for your destination but enjoy the walk.
I wish you the very best,
Tony
