What Drives You?
What is Your Why?
Happy Sunday to you,
Let’s dive in.
What drives you to achieve?
What gives you purpose when you wake?
How do you keep going?
A common belief is people are driven to succeed. They want financial freedom that puts them in charge of their own time. Is this really the drive?
Plenty of people achieve what the common man perceived as being successful.
Michael Jordan won 5 championships, why didn’t he stop after winning 4?
Why does Elon own Space X, Tesla, Boring Company, Starlink, Solar City and then buys Twitter?
Jordan Peterson’s income is around $200k a month but yet he continues to tour and speak on incredibly difficult subjects.
There is something deeper here.
Something that drives incredibly successful people to never be satisfied or wanting more.
Let’s break this up into two quick parts.
Intrinsic and extrinsic.
Extrinsic
This is the part that’s more obvious.
People praising your achievements or criticism of what your doing can drive you.
Wanting the money/pay as a reward
Buying nice things
Intrinsic
This is where I believe the true drive is.
The feeling you get when you achieve. A deep sense of joy. A really great feeling that nothing else comes close to in your daily life. So even when you become what other people see as a ‘success’ you have no hesitation to continue to search at the wonderful feeling again.
My sincere wish is that you have discovered that purpose and drive.
If you have found your ‘WHY’ then all you need is a little bit of luck 😊
My best to you always
Tony
